2012 Review Stats For This Blog

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog that I want to share with you.

One of the stats that stands out the most to me is that 2 of the top viewed 5 posts were watercolor demos. This stands out because those 2 posts were from 2010 and 2011. As you know, most of 2012 was devoted to Dreamscaping in alcohol inks.

While I love working in alcohol inks and will continue, especially during the next 30 Dreamscapes in 30 days challenge expect to see exploration in mixed-media and a return to watercolor in 2013.

Thank you to my subscribers. I appreciate you and wish you all the best in the New Year!

Let’s Keep Dreaming 🙂

Here’s an excerpt:

4,329 films were submitted to the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. This blog had 43,000 views in 2012. If each view were a film, this blog would power 10 Film Festivals

  1. I look forward to seeing more watercolors from you! Your alcohol inks are wonderful, but I think you really excel in watercolor.

  2. Thank you, Janet. Alcohol inks remind me of watercolor. I’ve found them to be a wonderful, forgiving medium for developing a looser style that I will continue using on my own and in workshops. Now, eager to explore Dreamscaping in Watercolor in 2013!

  3. June: I just discovered your work and it’s amazing! I’m a jewelry maker and was looking for info about using alcohol inks on metal when I stumbled across your DVDs. I know you use Yupo on the DVDs. Do you think your techniques can be applied to metal as well?

  4. Hi Nancy, thank you! Yes, alcohol inks can be applied to metal. I don’t have experience with that other than a student in one of my workshops a few years ago applying alcohol inks to copper. and some of the artists in the alcohol ink art facebook group I formed, work on larger sheets of metal. If you are on facebook, you are welcome to join. Imagine if you did a search, a lot would come up. Have fun!
