Inspired by the reblooming bearded iris I planted last fall, I took over 200 digital photos. Over the next few months, I’ll be devoting my art to interpreting their beauty and mystery.
There are many methods for getting the initial sketch onto the watercolor paper. Here, I’m transferring the sketch onto watercolor paper using graphite paper and tracing paper.
All corrections are made on the tracing paper. Once the sketch is to scale, it is transferred onto the watercolor paper. Making corrections (erasing) on the watercolor paper would damage the tooth of the paper and prevent uniform washes.
